Meet Nicole

Consultant, Dietitian

Nicole has over 6 years’ experience working as a Dietitian in New Zealand, the UK and Australia in a variety of clinical areas and predominantly in Diabetes.

After completing her Masters of Dietetics in New Zealand in 2012 she worked for three years at Wellington Hospital and with the NZ School of Dance. She then worked overseas for 2 years in the UK and Cyprus for the NHS and British Military before moving to Brisbane, Australia in 2018. She joined MacIntyre Health in 2019 and also works at Mater Hospital in public Diabetes care.

Nicole has a client-focussed approach and will work with you to achieve your personal goals. She keeps herself up to date with latest diabetes technologies and dietary tools to find what works for you.

Nicole special interests include;

  • Diabetes including Type 1, Type 2, MODY, Gestational diabetes and is a trained DAFNE facilitator
  • Eating Disorders and disordered eating behaviours
  • Paediatrics
  • Mental Health
  • Pregnancy nutrition
  • Weight loss including post-bariatric surgery
  • Gastrointestinal issues such as Gastroparesis, Coeliac Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome and is a trained to deliver the low FODMAP diet
  • Sports Nutrition and is an Accredited Sports Dietitian with Sports Dietitians Australia.

More About Nicole Walker

Nicole is a keen endurance sportswoman, currently racing internationally as an Adventure Racer and previously completed half ironman, marathon and cycling events. On weekends you will find her exploring in the beautiful Queensland hinterland and having friends and family over to enjoy a meal in the evenings.
